Figured it was time to show a little about what I’ve been either hinting at or outright saying about our little vineyard on the frontier. The video says we went yesterday, but we didn’t — it was last week. Just takes me some time to edit all my “uhs” and “ahs” and, of course, the blather. And so what if I whisper at the end something that indirectly gives nod to what I think about our wine. Someone’s gotta say it someday. And hopefully soon it won’t be just me.

And for another one day soon…I’ll give our whole sordid story in video form, since so many of you have been asking, but for now, enjoy the wide open spaces that surround our place.

  1. Thanks for the views! While it is great to read your posts, I still count off days until Ness and I get to come back out there.

Love the exposure and the elevation. does the wind hamper the blossoms and fruit set? I know they had a lot of problems with that in the Salinas area in CA. Otherwise, it must be nice to have all of that sun sun SUN!! Especially compared to the dreary days in the Valley right now. Eastside is a good place to be.

Keep going! Can’t wait to visit someday soon, hopefully with the intention of staying out there!

  2. lots of sun, sun, sun, for sure — needed that exposure to get things warmed up easily from the very cool nights. it’s a great spot. wind – the real diligent (!) wind doesn’t pick up until it really warms up out there, and that’s well after blossoming and fruit set. that doesn’t mean there aren’t crazily gusty days before then, but this our third year into fruit production, so far so good.

now hurry up, you two! take those pastries out of the oven, pack up that wagon, and get a movin’ back!
